IGSS 2022

The International GeoInformatics Summer School (IGSS) has successfully concluded on 27th August with diverse lectures covering satellite research & development, satellite date receiving & processing, remote sensing and life, digital cultural heritage, etc.

Last year, a total of 167 young talents from 26 countries and regions around the world shared a feast of knowledge. But in 2022, over 700 scholars, university students and professional technicians in the field of geospatial information science from more than 60 countries joined the online courses, explored the insights of geospatial information and the future of “Smart Earth”.

This summer school was sponsored by the state key laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing, Wuhan University (LIESMARS), co-organized by Hi-Target. Meanwhile, the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UNGG-IM) and the Joint International Research Laboratory of GeoInformatics (JIRLG) offered strong support.

Insights Sharing on the Courses of Smart Earth

Mr. Stefan Wei, General Manager of Hi-Target Marketing Center, was invited to address an online lecture of Satellite Navigation Technology & Industry Applications covering different subjects. He introduced the development of satellite navigation technology, an overview of the GNSS market, as well as high-precision GNSS industry application to the talents, so as to help them better glazing the working principles of GNSS in positioning, surveying and mapping.

School Enterprise Joint Training Mechanism

Cooperated with LIESMARS, a global research center in the field of geo-spatial information science, in developing training plans and conducting teaching and training for years, Hi-Target is struck to fulfil the social responsibilities of delivering knowledge of geospatial information development to motivated beginners, experienced, or those students who already have a good baseline knowledge of geoinformation and are looking to supplement their background. The mechanism will continue to provide up-to-date training sessions and industrial development trends to the students from different countries and regions, helping them get ideas about the future of the related industries in their regions, and further build their career paths and personal development plans.

See You in a Year Round

Although the courses were still held online this year, we believe we will gather together and meet in person in the near future. Next year, in the GeoInformatics Summer School, we hope to discuss and explore the future of the industries with talents from all over the world closely and passionately.
