Practical application of Hi-Target Mobile Mapping System in Hydrology
Background
Guizhou Hydrology and Water Resources Bureau held an emergency preparedness training to ensure effective response to hydro emergencies when needed in Da Caiyuan gauging station in June 20-21, 2017. Hi-Cloud Technology Ltd. was invited to showcase the latest 3D laser system in hydrology applications. We have collected abundant data resulted from the operation and proved that Hi-Target is an advanced technology company in 3D laser system.

Generate contours automatically based on point clouds
Since the point cloud data obtained by Hi-Target 3D laser scanning technology has accurate coordinate information, contour lines can be automatically generated from these high-precision point cloud data after custom setting of contour distance in Hi-Target post- processing software.
Hi-Target point cloud processing software support linkage CAD software, into which contours can be imported in real time to draw graph and save image.

Draft Water level lines based on point cloud data
3D laser scanning technology, also known as "real scene copy technology", the point cloud data obtained by 3D laser scanning distinct from traditional survey as high precision, high density. Based on these two characteristic of the point cloud, hand drawing can be proceeded in Hi-Target post-processing software. Hand-drawn water level lines not only suitable for space measurement, also can be displayed as images by linking to real-time drawing program.

Over- and underwater- data integration
The point cloud obtained by Hi-Target shipborne 3D laser scanner is compatible with the underwater data obtained by the multi-beam echo sounder of the Guizhou Hydrology Bureau. The auto-generated contour lines and isobaric lines can be imported into the drawing software at the same time, leading to the result of land and underwater data integration. Visual water lines submergence warning
Equipped with a high-definition panoramic camera, the over- and underwater integrated equipment of Hi-Cloud can capture the real-time view of scenery on both banks of the river. Acquire the predictable elevation of water level through hydrological data and import it into the software to check the forecasting submerged status of water level line in real time.
